When an old surfboard shaped by Peter Way, the Kiwi surfing pioneer, is washed ashore, its finders refurbish it with the intention of restoring it to Peter. As they search for Peter, conversations with current surfers reveal more about the man, and his influence on the country’s surfing culture. New Zealand has now produced multiple champions in the sport. Watch Maz Quinn, Paige Hareb, Billy Stairmand, and Ricardo Christie talk about their life on the surfboard, and how it takes more than just skill to make it to the top, along with breathtaking footage of some of the best surfing spots and stunts in the world.
