THE RHONE, THE REBIRTH OF A RIVER
In 2003, the rapid rise in the level of the Rhône claimed lives & displaced thousands. It was observed that the frantic & anarchic planning of the river for economic and energy needs was partly responsible for the catastrophe. Too many embankments, dams, roads & railways spoilt its landscape and biodiversity & turned it into a danger for humans. And so the decision has been made to “restore” it.
