Captain Bjørne and his hardy crew set off on what is supposed to be their last hunt for seals ever, spelling the end of an ancient Norwegian tradition. The film follows them on their perilous two-month journey capturing the beauty of the blue and white landscape, the violence and thrill of the hunt, and the easy camaraderie between the crew. Along the way it reveals the significance of sealing for those who hunt and those who buy the meat, and the struggles in keeping a controversial tradition alive in the modern world.
