The moving and provocative portrait of a marriage that challenges established notions about relationships, gender roles and religion. When 62-year-old Dutch dancer Carla married 33-year-old Libyan freedom fighter Fouad, she readily converted to Islam. The couple built a happy life together in Amsterdam, despite the reactions they received from people they met, and the political tensions from the Middle East creeping into their lives. Will the second wife Fouad sought so he could have a child be the challenge their relationship can not overcome?
